Quake Causes Shake-Up On TV Shows

Television's Judge Judy Sheindlin witnessed a bit of a shake-up in her courtroom on Tuesday.

Sheindlin was taping her court series "Judge Judy" when a 5.4 magnitude earthquake hit 29 miles southeast of Los Angeles.

A spokesman said the TV courtroom shook, as did cameras, the New York Daily News reported.

The spokesman added that some of the audience members made for the door, running from the studio.

Despite the commotion, Sheindlin only took a break of about 45 minutes before going back to work.

Judge Judy wasn't the only one in Hollywood shaking.

At the "Big Brother" house in Studio City, houseguests on the CBS reality series were sent scurrying.

Producers informed cast members of the earthquake over a public announcement system since they aren't allowed any communication with the outside world, reported the Los Angeles Times.

The house is built inside a soundstage, said the Times."A lot of them are not from California, so this is the first earthquake they’ve experienced," series executive producer Allison Grodner said.

"Everyone was a bit shaken."However, the quake didn't stop the show, which airs live online 24 hours a day, the Times reported."We made sure they felt safe, but they went back to business right after," Grodner said.

saw the news all day and just wanted to add, local judge penny's set also had some shaking going on.
